The Right or Not the Right; That Is The Question.
Over the years, homosexuality in Africa continues to be a very controversial conflict going on. As many people believe that they should have the right to do as they please, and marry who they're happy with, other believe it's against religion and is "un-African." Many African countries have made homosexuality into a crime. However, South Africa made it legal for same-sex marriage. One cannot think that all of Africa is homophobia, because that's a misconception. Different African countries are dealing very diverse, complex, situations and debates over this subject. However, it would also be naiive of someone to say that homophobia is not a problem in Africa, because the truth is that is, just again, not every part of Africa is the same way. There have been many serious crimes done to innocent people: just because they were gay, or just suspected to be homosexual. Africa's conflicts with homosexuality are only worsening, but many organizations are out there now, to help those suffering, as well as those against homosexuality.
