2400 BCE- The first record of the first homosexual couple in history is commonly known as Khnumhotep and Niankhnum. The 2 were an Egyptian male couple.The pair is often portrayed posing in a nose-kissing position, which happens to be the most intimate pose in Egyptian art.
1998- In Zambia, politicians outdid one another in condemning the only homosexual man in the country who had dared to “come out” to everyone, including the press. In Bostwana, they follow its very old fashioned criminalizations of male homosexual acts, but in 1998, they also broadened it to also punish women having sex with other women, as well. The leaders of other countries began to following what was going on, when in 1999, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda declared, "I have told the CID [Criminal Investigations Department] to look for homosexuals, lock them up and charge them."
Nov 30, 2006- South Africa became the first country in Africa, as well as only the fifth in the world to legalize same-sex marriages. However, same-sex marriages in Zimabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana and the majority of other countries

2007- A global survery on the legal status of homosexuality in Africa was conducted by the International Gay and Lesbian Association (IGLA). The results showed that 40 of the 53 African countries had legislation that turned homosexuality into an illegal act.
2009-New legislation was passed by the president of Burundi in 2009, which criminalizes same sex relations for the first time in Africa’s history.
November 2009- In Uganda, rights activists disagree with the proposed anti-homosexuality Bill. The Bill calls for execution for selective gay people. The Bill is condemned by the Unites States, as well as the European Union.
November 2009- Kenya realeases a plan to launch a survey of gay attitudes and behaviors in the 3 biggest countries, in a year. In Kenya, sex between males is illegal and punishable by up to 14 years in prison--and is seen as Western-imported including the idea of morally wrong behavior.
October 2010- In South Africa, there was a huge march held in Soweto that said no to the epidemic of "corrective rape" of lesbians. Not to mention, the gays and lesbians in South Africa have been making progress with same-sex marriage being legal now.
February 2010-In Hampala, Uganda, the Military Police proposed the death penalty for some gays, resulting, homophobia has been on the rise in many other parts of Africa. Earlier in February, Barack Obama criticized the Ugandan proposals, which led to huge anti-gay rallies in neighbouring Kenya.
October 2011- The Ugandan Parliament held a vote; whether to reopen a debate on the bill that intends to outlaw homosexuality and may even include such punishments for the "crime" as the death penalty for gay peopleub-Saharan countries, is still illegal.
